WhatsApp Contact Management allows you to organize and manage your WhatsApp audience through a hierarchical system: Contact Lists → Segments → Contacts.
What Are Contact Lists?
Contact Lists are the highest level of organization. They group contacts by campaign, customer type, or business need.

Creating a Contact List
Go to Marketing Bot → WhatsApp → Contacts
Click "+ Create Contact List"
Enter list name
Enter list description (optional)
Click "Create"
Managing Contact Lists
View Lists:
All contact lists displayed in table or grid
Shows list name, description, number of contacts, creation date
Edit List:
Click list name
Update description
Click "Save"
Delete List:
Right-click on list
Select "Delete"
Confirm deletion
Contacts can be moved to another list first
What Are Segments?
Segments are subsets of a Contact List, created by filtering contacts based on specific attributes or behaviors. Segments enable advanced, targeted messaging.
Examples of Segments:
"High-Value Customers" (purchase over $500)
"Inactive Customers" (no purchase in 6 months)
"VIP Members" (loyalty tier status)
"Recent Shoppers" (purchased in last 30 days)
"Newsletter Openers" (opened last 3 emails)
"Geographic" (customers in specific location)
Creating a Segment
Open a Contact List
Click "+ Create Segment"
Name your segment
Set filtering criteria:
Purchase history (amount, date, frequency)
Activity level (last purchase date, engagement)
Customer lifecycle (active, at-risk, inactive)
Demographics (location, age, interest)
Custom fields
Preview contacts that match criteria
Click "Save Segment"
Segment Criteria Examples:
Example 1: "VIP Customers"
Criteria: Total purchases over $1,000
Result: 157 contacts
Example 2: "At-Risk Customers"
Criteria: No purchase in 6+ months, previous active customer
Result: 234 contacts
Example 3: "New Customers"
Criteria: First purchase in last 30 days
Result: 89 contacts
Using Segments for Campaigns
When creating a WhatsApp campaign:
Select target audience
Choose "Segment"
Select specific segment
Campaign sends only to segment members
Highly targeted messaging

Adding Contacts
Open a Contact List
Click "+ Add Contact"
Enter:
First Name (required)
Last Name (optional)
WhatsApp Number (required, with country code)
Custom Fields (email, company, location, etc.)
Click "Save"

Edit Contact:
Click contact → "Edit"

Confirm deletion
Contact removed from all lists/segments
Manage duplicate contacts:
Go to Contact Management
Click "Find Duplicates"
Review suggested duplicates
Delete the repeated one
Maintain clean database
Accurate Phone Numbers: Include country codes (+1, +44, etc.)
Regular Updates: Keep contact information current
Segmentation: Use segments instead of separate lists
Data Privacy: Respect opt-out requests immediately
Clean Database: Remove invalid or bounced numbers
